There is about 5m of rain per year here. For comparison that’s the same as the Western Highlands of Scotland, 3x Wales and 10x Norfolk.




In between showers the sun was welcome. Steamy mist rises from the rain forest. The existence of which is purported to be evidence it was once linked to South America. Those slippy plates keep moving.
So a good day to rest before the final leg to Queenstown. We hasten to Haast tomorrow (a wee tailwind)….
